new sequence capture instrument enabling large scale studies

it is our pleasure to announce the launch of the newest member of our microfluidic biochip platform: the HybSelector instrument, a revolutionary tool that -combined with Applied Biosystem’s SOLiD™? System- enables targeted re-sequencing in large scale genomic studies. Based on the established HybSelect sequence capture application, the HybSelector instrument stands for high-throughput and full automation, supporting multiplexed analyses of pooled barcoded samples. Thus, studying hundreds of clinical samples by high-throughput resequencing of large genomic regions becomes possible with unprecedented speed and affordability.

Selective sequencing of several hundred thousand bases in 400 clinical samples has been successfully performed within 6 weeks, using two SOLiD 3plus sequencing systems as well as two of febit’s HybSelector platforms. The new HybSelector instrument will be displayed at theAGBT conference in Marco Island, FL on February 24-27.
