Why is microarray design so important?

Precise microarray design is fundamental to running a successful experiment. The exact sequence content of the capture probes have a fundamental impact on how well the samples will bind to their designated capture probes and how much cross-hybridization will occur. A wetlab validation of the control probes characterizes the real-world effectiveness of the computationally-predicted design. At febit we balance and weight-in all these factors very precisely to create microarrays of the highest quality.
